Cathedral Rock Reflections in Oak Creek

Cathedral Rock is an iconic view of the red rock country that surrounds Sedona, Arizona.  The calm-water reflections here are in Oak Creek.  A hundred yards downstream, the water is much more rapid.  My original painting of this scene was a study done en plein air, and I chose the calm water because I liked the mirroring effect.  This was done around 9:00 in the morning, so much of the scene is backlit.
