In this painting, Pusch Ridge towers above the northwest part of Tucson.  This was originally a study painted just after dawn, on location from a wash in Catalina State Park.  It was cold that day to be out painting, probably January or February.  The larger painting done in the studio was from the on-location study and a photograph of Pusch Ridge and a couple of sahuaros.
