Superstition High Noon
Size: 11x14
Type: Oil on linen panel
This is a view along the Salt River, east of the Phoenix area, in the Superstition Mountains. I was taking a painting workshop in February and driving from Sahuaro Lake back to the Salt Cliffs when I rounded a turn on Bush Highway and came upon this scene. Most desert scenes at high noon are pretty flat, but the light spilling through these rocks is spectacular, and I hope I’ve captured it.
